Dear Parents, Here are a “few” last minute notes before the recital. Please make sure all tuition and costume balances, etc. are paid before your child dances in the recital. If your child has several absences, please check with your teacher to make sure they are ready to perform. It states in the handbook that we can pull a student from the recital if they have more than 6 absences. Your mandatory rehearsal will be Monday, May 5th at Bartlett High School. (This is NOT a dress rehearsal!) Friday night’s recital practices from 4-6:30. Saturday Night’s recital practices 6:30-9:00. Please make plans now to attend. Do not leave until Miss Christi dismisses your class. I will let you leave as soon as possible. All dance students must wear LEOTARDS (no skirts), pink tights, and buns to this rehearsal. Acro and hip hop students must wear LEOTARDS, shorts, and ponytails. T-shirts and pants will NOT be allowed on stage for the girls. When you arrive at the rehearsal, the practice program will be placed on the edge of the stage. You need to line up backstage three (3) numbers before your number. Please arrive on time. If you need to check out of school early, please do so. We won’t have time to repeat every routine only those with major problems. Acrobats need to make sure they warm up on their own. RECITAL NIGHT - All girls need to wear mascara, pinkish blush, and red lipstick on the stage because of the bright lights. Please bring a cover-up to wear over your costume. Daddy’s shirt works great. The auditorium will not open until one hour before showtime. Please do not save seats. Your party needs to arrive at the same time in order to sit together. If this continues to be a problem, we will charge admission next year with assigned seating. Students need to arrive no later than 30 minutes before showtime. Show will start promptly. Below is a list of the shoes you need and their color. _____Ballet shoes - Please make sure they have elastic SEWN! _____Tap shoes - leave tan. _____Jazz shoes - leave same color. _____Acrobatic shoes _____Baton students - acro shoes Hair needs to be worn as it was in your studio pictures. If you are planning to take summer classes, please sign up on the bulletin board in the hall so we will know what classes to offer. We strongly urge all acrobats to continue taking to keep up their strength and flexibility. I strongly urge all competitive students or anyone wanting to be in the company to take ballet and jazz technique this summer. This is also a good time for the students to try a new class. Registration is May 20th from 3:30-6:30. If you would like to re-order pictures from Bob Gray Photography, make sure you place the order by May 1st. You may place the order in my red basket below file folders. ***PLEASE BRING YOUR RECITAL SHIRT TO THE AUDITORIUM REHEARSAL ON MAY 5TH. IT WILL HELP US TO LINE UP FOR THE FINALE. ***If you ordered a recital t-shirt, please wear it with shorts and ballet/jazz shoes for the finale. Shorts need to be solid colors - denim, white, navy blue, or black. I know this note contains a lot of information. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
